Ok, spring fever (pun inteded) has fully hit me now. I'm looking into pricing on springs from Eibach and other manufacturers. I've also decided that the spacer is going tobe my first buy, the copper Iso. After seeing how easy it was to install on Peng's car this past weekend, it made up my mind for sure.

Yea its awesome that its less than a half hour install lol. Easier for those of us that don't have to remove the throttle body. But I did have a polished plenum, so that didnt help! If u can, the lower collector adds a great helping of torque too!

Yea but the HR motor in the 07 and on sedans is different from the DE motors. I have never read anywhere about people doing spacers.

Aight Janik, I'll see you Friday night bro, the lady will be gone bowling!! I'm going to try and get my front bumper mounted by then, and I'm borrowing Tevi's wheels this weekend to see if I can get out of my driveway!! wh00p wh00p!!!!

Also, MIKE, Janik is right. The plenum's are for 03-07 COUPES...but 03-06 SEDANS. An intake spacer simply can't be used on the HR motor. SORRY TAYLOR!! Looked into it quite a bit last night.

So then what makes the HR motor different where you cannot do the intake spacer?

LMAO, I'm a coupe guy, come on now haha

But yeah, I didn't know they had changed the motor from the 06 to the 07, I thought it was just the body style they upgraded, and the 08's were the new motor. I was wrong!

its just weird how they roll out the new sedans one year then the coupes? (07-08)

The plenum doesn't come apart like the earlier years. The two half's are basically one now. The entire upper would have to be one piece. I think there's been some research into developing one by Takeda, but that's it.

The plenum spacer itself CORRECTED an issue with the upper manifold design.. the front cylinders didn't have enough space in them for full power gains. The plenum corrected how the engine should have came from the factory.

This is the reason why YOUR motor has more HP STOCK! :-) Be happy!!

Also sounds like cosworth is working on producing a full manifold for the VHR as well.

Yeah I was going to say, that must be the reason for the large hp gain from 06 to 07. I know mine is rated at 306 and the older motor is like 285 or something close to that. So I'll def take the 20 hp gain from the factory. The more I look too, the harder it is to find parts for this model. But I guess it was only made for a year and half too.

So let me get this straight... all sedans and the 07 coupes have the HR motors? Or is the year discrepancy only within the sedans only?
