Less restriction in your exhaust. Better sound too, 20 min install, no cost!!!

No , not in person, just the You Tube movies. The Tanabe Medallion appeared to my ears as the most conservative, not overwhelming exhaust out of several I've listen to repeatedly. I am also a trained musician and I listen to the pitch of the sound, maybe it's wrong. Anyway I'd just made some changes to polish up the sound and will publish soon.

Sorry Greg but drilling holes in your exhaust is for ricers with cavaliers covered in stickers with huge wings on the back. You telling me you can buy a 37,000 dollar car but can't drop $800 for a decent exhaust?

The fact I do research to come up with an inexpensive solution to have a better exhaust sound qualifies me automatically to be a ricer in a Cavalier with a huge wing on the back. My friend in blog[ and I mean it ] you are attacking me with pointless arguments. Yes I can afford a gold plated exhaust but it is not a topic of this blog. Are you saying I am perhaps cheap? If yes would you consider any entity doing research a hopeless attempt? Pleeease, I would gladly debate you if you figure out what you'd like to say to start the conversation. Make it interesting if you can, peace, Greg

Care to elaborate on that? My mother knows NOTHING about cars, the first thing she said when she heard my car was: "Did you punch a hole in that thing?" So drilling a hole in your exhaust isn't exactly "doing research".
You need to define what it is you achieved from this, you keep saying "Cheap Solution" but the question remains.. to what?
If you problem was to make it sound louder, then yes, problem solved, but if your goal was to make it sound better then in all honesty, it's back to the drawing room mate.

AMEN bro, but first the sound video. Give me a day please. You know as for dynos we did one to show 10-12hp gain with the holes in the filter craddle drilled but I don't consider this valid till I will present you with the same time comparison dyno. My goal is to squise 15hp from a 10 dollar bill. Even if the dyno will turn against me there's still a super sound, much, much better than stock, peace, Greg

This video is modified: YouTube - Infiniti G37s coupe with modified exhaust
As i mentioned before in my opinion the stock exhaust sound of the coupe is to delicate, designed to please a wide spectrum of customers, ladies included. My ear required something more but not too much. Instead of replacing the muffler at the cost of close to 1000 bucks we had drilled 2 holes in the muffler pipes. We [later] installed some clamps to hold 2 sound changing fittings. The sound level at idle is almost the same with a 2 DB louder growl but it makes the car substantially more visible at the highest rpms. So in my research we've come up with an inexpensive solution to changing the sound of your exhaust to make it sportier and to give it more presence. This is a very easily reversible operation if you want to go back to the stock option. I am sure many of you just wanted that extra presence of your car exhaust but you were reluctant to splurge a 1000 bucks on a muffler so this is for those guys. I do appreciate the fine engineering of the aftermarket exhaust systems. There is a magnitude of different sounding system. Very few of us would be able to experiment exchanging them and picking up the IDEAL one. It would be a matter of several thousand dollars and your lady sure wouldn't like it! Guys, I am not kidding go drill a couple of holes first, see if it gives you a thrill if not put a clamp on it or patch it up at the muffler shop for 30 dollars. If you drill the holes and the sound is not enough for you so go from there and buy a whole exhaust. My pref is Fast Intentions if I'd like a lot of presence and Tanabe Medallion Touring if I want to be on a safe side. Any others are good too depending on your preference. Please do not buy any inexpensive setups cause you will be sorry- no quality of workmanship and just a loud sound.
