Catalytic converters

Hi guys brand new here been browsing for a while and finally joined owner of a 2012 g37xs sedan. So my reason for posting is I need new cats and I wanted to get some recommendations on what to get. I'm not really looking for performance gains I personally want to keep my car as close to stock as possible since this is my first car. I've looked at oem and they are insanely expensive what are some good alternatives? Also are eBay cats even worth it?

I can say if you're wanting to stay as close to stock, stay away from Z1 HFC's. I have them and love them, but they do introduce rasp into the exhaust note and will smell a bit more than the OEM style cats will. They are one of the cheapest HFC on the market, but also the lowest cell count so you won't be as efficient as oem cats. I'd try to find some used OEM cats with low miles. A ton of people upgrade to HFC's at low mileage and sell off their OEM cats.

I made a post a few days ago asking about eBay cats and nobody cared to respond. Hopefully your post will have more luck. I am interested in these as well as they are hecka cheap.

Also, don’t hold your breath on finding a used set on here, they disappear faster than a shipment of TP and hand sanitizer.

Look here in the Private Classifieds forum, maybe post up a WTB for OEM cats, Ebay is usually as good as your willingness to research. Z1 Motorsports, CZP and AFE have options. FB Marketplace and Craigslist are options too.
