Who Wants To Give Me Advice

So I have about $500 right now and I'm looking to buy a louder exhaust than the OEM exhaust on my 2008 G37 sport. Does anyone know of a good exhaust? I've seen some that are cheap but I wanted some reviews and stuff. Like the Megan and Top Secret. Any local brands or something that makes a good cheap exhaust? I haven't looked that deep into it. So I figured I'd make a little thread about it. Thanks to all who can help me out.

I love my top speed, it sounds better after 6 month break-in period. No rust or anything.

From my limited experience, idk if you can get quality for $500. However, if you're just interested in a louder exhaust, you might consider swapping your cats for test pipes, or going with HFC's. You'll probably get a very slight increase in hp, too.

How much would swapping my cats cost?

If you have a reputable custom exhaust shop nearby you can get a custom catback done for around $4-500 and it can be just as good quality as the name brands. Or you can go to high flow cats like the fast intentions ones which are 500 and around 600 for the resonated ones.

My advice would be to save up more money and get something of higher quality to put on your car than you can buy for $500. Our cars are far from the most expensive to kid, but doing it right isn't cheap either.

Keep in mind that test pipes are not typically street legal. They have unrestricted air flow, and will increase volume, but you'll probably have a check engine light and will fail smog tests. Test pipes are pretty cheap (250-300 new). You can probably pick up a used pair from someone on the forum. If you have a jack and axle stands, you might even do the installation yourself.

I honestly want the ARK exhaust system but it's just out of my price range!

Your not going to be able to find a quality 3rd party exhaust for that price. If your not planning on spending more than that just get some decent mufflers like Tanabe or something used and get a good exhaust shop to make you a mid/x pipe.
