Yes, this kit out-performs the Stillen Gen 3 Kit. HP and TQ numbers per dollar does NOT amount to the same value however.
That thread states nothing about any tune.
Remember lean is mean, is AFR could have been dangerously low with the TS intakes, thus gaining HP.

I'm going to play the other half and say! Yes they are sexy! Yes you paying 75% more for the name T.S. But it's only worth it in who ever the owner is. This just my IMO I think the Injen Shortram intakes would do the same job for $300 with out a tune.

I'm just saying, I will be at Z days this year and I have the Injen intakes and F.I CBE with no tune and I never reset my ECM and my car after about 4 days of driving has adjusted it self and I can feel more low/topend.

Jon, just make sure you keep an eye on you're tune, because the filters you are using are racing filters and will let in more dirt.

Haha... Was waiting for this.
You're right.. The car (project Mortha 370z) was later tuned by Smoky himself and put down great numbers.

Everyone and their brother has the Stillen kit... So it's not for me. Like I said in my first post "this kit isn't for everyone". For me it's purely aesthetic, high quality and handcrafted Japanese . I love the benefits of dry carbon and titanium like weight reduction, less heat soak and near corrosion-rust resistant. owning something different is important for some enthusiast too. Something you don't see at every meet/show. Yes, I plan on tuning my car soon. With my mods and future modifications, I'm sure I'll put down decent numbers.

Clearly I didn't purchase this kit solely for power gains. That wasn't even my focus when researching and shopping.

Not going to turn this into a debate. congrats on owning the Stillen CAI... I'm really happy for you

Thanks for the heads up! My car is a garage queen, won't leave if the weather is bad and I always keep an open eye on the engine bay.
One of the biggest issue with ANY aftermarket intake is heat-soak. If I was looking for power per dollar I would've went with a Cobb silicone tube or Z1 tube and drop-in's.
titanium stays cooler, looks great and chicks dig it

^^^ agreed, quality looks top notch, but $2k+ is a good head start on a S/C kit!

Did you read my first post?

Had a S/C kit. Sold it in the marketplace a few months back. I could have gone FI twice with the money I've spent in mods, read my sig. I wanted reliability. I don't want the headaches associated with forced induction. If I wanted a track beast... I would've kept my Z.
