best for some power gains. intake

Hey guys, i am currently running an ARK exhaust, thinking about getting intakes soon. thinking between r2c short ram or stillen gen 3 cai.... i know people say u dont gain much power with intake or exhaust but with this car i firmly believe that u really do gain decent power with those mods with the test done with me and my buddy with the same exact g37s coupe 6 speed as mine. the exhaust gave me a very obvious edge from low end till top end..and cars feel different too.

For those that have the stillen gen 3 cai, how does the car respond to them and is there a decent difference between the power of cai and short ram on these cars??

if you want the biggest bang for your buck get test pipes. I have an invidia cat back, berk test pipes, takeda cold air, a tune and lighter flywheel and its pretty beast when compared to stock

I went with the R2C intakes in the black nickel finish and I am very impressed. I was gonna do the Stillen but didn't like the fact that the filters were behind the grill. Here is a pic of my intake installed

Test pipes will definitly make it louder and add rasp but you will get the most power. Installation if you do it yourself will take 3-4 hours and a lot of muscle to rip the bolts lose. Heres a link to some Berk test pipes whick I use. Great quality and price.

Berk Test Pipes / High Flow Cats: Infiniti G35/G37 / Nissan 350Z/370Z

G37Pillow. I made the same choice, have not installed them yet. Have you had any issues with the car after installation? Codes or drivability issues. I had none on my G35, but read issues on this site that some have had.

PS they look great on your car.

Cobb Tuning ran dyno tests in 2008 using stock, AEM, Fujita and one or two others I can't remember. Results came back in favor of the STOCK setup. The link to the Cobb results is no longer valid, but the thread here still remains: https://www.myg37.com/forums/intake-...take-test.html. There's a couple nuggets of good info if you poke through it.

If you like the Stillen G3 intake design, I would highly recommend getting the Takeda Stage 2 Intake for your G37. There is no cutting/drilling required on Takeda's CAI and there are no issues of it hitting the A/C line.

I have a brand new Stillen Gen3 and a 3 month used black nickel R2C. I was thinking of selling one or both of them. Want to make me an offer on one?

Well said right there ^^ GEN3 without a doubt. Don't even consider another intake! Everyone that does...ends up selling it regretting that they hadn't purchased the Gen3 the first time!
