Sorry guys but you don't just glue a hose/coupler like this together and hope it will last. Not going to happen and I wouldn't trust it. From what I can see in the picture is that this material seems to be made of rubber. 
Is that correct? If so, then why? What's wrong with going with a high quality silicon hose coupler? Since they are reinforced they can be used on a pressurized setup as well as a vacuum or NA setup with great results. I mean you spend all this time and money for these things and then they are cheapened up with some poor quality hoses or couplings. I doubt this would have happen with a silicon hose coupler. JMO -ICBW

Takeda CAI weak link
So here's the replacement coupler I got today to replace the torn one supplied by Takeda....I will say again....for the price of the kit...they really should have used a coupler like this one instead of the really flimsy cheap rubber one they use in the kit....beware anyone thinking of getting the Takeda CAI system BUY THESE BEFORE YOU INSTALL IT!! notice the reinforced structure of this.......[IMG][IMG]

Definitely looks like that could be an issue. Nice couplers, but it makes me wonder if Takeda used the more flimsy ones for that reason.
I will reiterate here for all potential Takeda long tube purchasers, the couplers are not the greatest, but not a reason to purchase a different product.

To me they felt about as flexible as the lower quality ones supplied by the manufacturer in question , but hey whatever I just thought if anyone else finds themselves in the situation I did then these are the best replacements and that they should be used by the manufacturer of the CAI system....

OK, I just spent the last 16 minutes of my forum time finding and merging your 5 (yes 5!) different threads on the same exact issue into one thread. Do not create another different thread about this topic or you will lose your ability to create new threads on this forum. The clutter you are creating is ridiculous. Perhaps you were unaware that you should keep it all together. Now you know. But from now on, just continue to post in the same thread if it's about the same thing, don't click new thread unless you are absolutely positively sure it's not more of the same subject. Or risk loss of thread creation privileges.
I hope you get it completely worked out. Or maybe by now you have come to the realization that I have come to from reading the experiences of others like yourself - for them most part intakes on this car are far more trouble then benefit. Best of luck on this thing.
