Gen 3 Filter Maintenance???

So, after I had my Stillen Gen 3 CAI installed, I realized that in order to clean or perform any sort of maintenance work on the filters, you'd probably have to remove the fascia every time. Does anyone have a more convenient work-around for this?

You can just remove the radiator cover and if necessary the grill. There's plenty of room to work at that point.

Keep in mind that the filters don't need to be cleaned very often. Generally speaking, unless you live in a very dirty/dusty environment you won't need to clean them until 20-30,000 miles.

When it's time to clean the filter, I can just go buy the K&N cleaning kit from my local auto store?

Or you can replace them with AEM's dry-flow filter. Much easier to clean, but like Kyle said, it probably won't be an issue until 20-30K miles on them.

I was driving through a lot of construction zones for a while when I was using the car as a daily. The filters ended up getting pretty dirty because the oil has a tendency to trap dirt and grime.

Cleaning K&N filters are very easy.

1. Spray Cleaner
2. Rinse
3. Let sit in sun for 30 minutes to an hour
4. Re-Oil, evenly - one spray around the cone is enough, you don't want to over oil the filters.
5. Reinstall.

Most time consuming process is getting to the filters when they're on the car.
