Exhaust question, Midpipes?

I have the Top speed exhaust which is from the Y-pipe back the mufflers. I am going to be purchasing a set of FI HFC's and i was wondering what midpipes to go with/where to order them from. FI website only offers their catback and the HFC's and i really dont know many other places to order from. New to the tuner world so i'm kinda lost for places to shop at.

Also, would you recommend a tune after the rest of my exhaust is pieced together? I don't plan on doing any other modifications performance wise to the car, so i'm thinking i should take it in to tune it and maximize the gains.

You have yourself a little backwards. The Top Speed includes a mid pipe and tail/muffler section. What it does not have is a y-pipe. So, if you get HFCs everything from the exhaust manifolds back will be aftermarket with the exception of the Y pipe. So really what you are looking for is a y-pipe.

There are several aftermarket y-pipes but all of them go to a 3in collector where it meets the mid pipe. The problem here is the rest of the system is 2.5" which leaves a lip at the mid pipe connection which is bad for flow. The exhaust depot y-pipe is the only one I'm aware of that is 2.5" all the way through.

Yeah check into exhaust depot or go to Horsepowerfreaks and check out the MXP y-pipe.

Cool. Thanks guys for the info. You think getting a tune would be worth it with just the exhaust mods and intake? I personally think it would be, but would like to hear from you guys about gains from your tunes.

Ok, so the MXP is about $400!! The one from exhaust depot is $275 and it is a 2.5. I'm thinking im going with the one from exhaust depot and then order up the HFC's from Fast intentions.

The Stainless Steel from Exhaust Depot is $375.00, the $275.00 is aluminized steel.

The MXP os 55mm, which is just over 2"

Still worth getting the ED.

Yea, the ED seems like the better choice to me.
