Borla (again!!)

Hi, I know it's not the first time someone ask this in this topic, I got a 08 G37s and I'm looking to change the exhaust. I love the stock sound of the G but I want maybe a little deeper and lounder. I think the Borla is good for deeper tone. Is anyone here with a borla exhaust? any drone over rpm range?

I have the Borla for 4 years ('07 G35x VQ35HR) and very happy of it! Very nice and deep sound, more like V8.

But when I changed my stock cats to Berk's HFC I got rather annoying drone and rasp, so I had to add Moroso Spiral Flow resonators and they helped. Though now it is not that sexy deep sound I had with just the Borla + stock cats and I hope ART pipes will help to return it

That's exactly the sound I'm looking for...something with a nice, deep rumble similar to what you hear in a V8. I'm not into the buzzing/raspy/high-pitched/angry-bees/weed-wacker sound that are common with imports.

Did you just swap out the mufflers or get the full catback?

full-catback

Borla sounds really fantastic with the stock catalysts and headers, so if you don't plan to change them it's a good choice of cat-back.

Sorry, but I'm confused as to why someone would want v8 sound from a v6 car? With that said, Borla makes good exhausts and if that is what floats your boat I say go for it.

I have a sedan Though it's '07 with VQ35HR engine.

And it is not really V8 sound, it is just like V6 but really, really angry

A '96 impala ss with 5.7L V8 + borla sounded very nice. The G is no 8 cyl, but should still sound somewhat decent. They don't have an application for a '07 or '08 (whenever the 3.7L made it to the sedan) sedan application.

they for sure had the application for '07-'08 RWD VQ35HR sedan, though I had to mod it a little to fit AWD.

I just installed my borla full cat a month ago and I couldn't be happier. The sound is so deep and angry. But I also heard the greddy exhaust a little while back and I may sell my borla exhuast and switch to the greddy because IMO it sounds a little bit "cleaner" then the borla. PM if youre intrested in a barely used borla exhuast

So with the stock cats and headers there wasn't any drone?

Just a little bit of drone at 2000-3000 under load, but nothing annoying.

I had a Borla exhaust with stock cats... I ended up adding resonators because there was a bit of rasp, it was pretty annoying. It also changes the tone. It no longer has that VQ sound to it.
