Intake Heat Wrap

Well over the weekend i installed a takeda "cold air" intake. The pipes in the engine bay get so hot what the point of having the filter behind the grille?? So I was wondering if anyone heat wraps their intake pipes to keep the air cooler.

Wouldn't that make the tubes hotter?

The wraps aren't like blankets to keep the air warm on a chilly fall morning. They are insulation so the heat from the engine doesn't warm the air going from filters through tubes to engine. It's call engine "heat soak".

That's why intakes are not worth it. Our stock setup is already very good. Drop-ins are you best choice! That, and some HPS tubes, and you're all set. Cobb discontinued doing tunes for the G, so you'd be way better off with UpRev.
