Intake help
So I just bought a G37 Journey Premium Sedan.
First question, I only put 1700 miles on it so far, after how many miles should I replace stock intakes and install twin short ram intake?
And second, which brand/type twin short ram intake will you recommend. Something that will give me good power and make the car sound amazing?

I'm sorry if this comes off as being rude, but this topic has been asked many, many times before; use the freaking search button. I hate to leave people hanging, so I'll respond despite. It doesn't matter how long you wait until you replace your OE intakes (was that your question? how long you should wait before doing intakes? "how many miles should i replace stock intakes"...?). As far as brands, they're all the same. It really depends on personal preference. Stillens are popular (i'm not a fan of their work however, many people still purchase their products). There's also R2C, JWT, and Injen (what I have). You'll have to research on the various intakes to fully determine which one you prefer; they all have their own little pros/cons. GL.

As far as the replacement goes, yes I was asking if there was some time you needed to wait until your fully break in your engine and then change the intakes, but I guess from your answer, it doesnt matter when.
Anyhow, yeah I was thinking of getting Injen. Would you say that they'll give me about +30hp and +30ish torque? and does the car sound nice with the injen?

I apologize, Leo. You caught me on a rough night . If you're looking for short rams, I've heard good things about R2C. I can't recall specifically what, but again...I've only heard praises. Dyno graphs, etc.. Just out of curiosity, why aren't you considering cold airs?

lol unfortunately, most certainly not. 12-15 whp is most definitely, in and of itself, a far far far reach. you're looking at 10 whp, MAX. the modification world doesn't work the following way: 10 whp from intakes + 5 whp from exhaust = 15 whp. Breather mods of all don't just add up. As you begin to add more and more breather mods, you gain less and less whp and wtq.

btw I also heard a lot of people on the forum say that they change the oil first time after 1200 mile mark. Is this true? Should I do that?

Just do a simple google search on "G37 R2C" and "G37 Stillen" and that should help you make your decision, if you want to go with SRI then R2C is the best imo, you'll see why i say that once you find some reviews.
