Jerking with Intake Install

I installed an INJEN cold air intake a few weeks ago. When it rained the car jerked and wouldn't want to go past 2500rpm. The next day (still raining) as I was driving, the car shut off. I pulled it on the side of the road and had to get it towed. The dealer re-flashed it, and it seemed to work fine until tonight. It was raining and as I was driving, it wouldn't let me go past 2500rpm before it would start jerking. As I came to a stop sign, the car just shut off on me. I started it back up again and managed to get it home. I have hydro shields on the cones. I'm planning to take the intake out tomorrow if I can’t find a solution.

I think most of people installed Injin CAI faced the same problem because of the location of the filter

Bad news. Are your MAF sensors in properly? Didn't know this was a common issue with Injen owners. Sorry to hear man.

Must be the MAF sensors. Ive been through intense rain and thunderstorms and have not had a single problem at all. I dont have hydroshields either.

Yeah, must be the MAF sensors. Check if its put on properly. Had the same issue when someone broke into my car and I didn't know they disconnected one of the MAF's.

If the MAF sensor was the issue, would a CEL go on?

stalling after drive in the rain? cleaning the maf or letting it dry out fixes the issue on most cars.

I've been driving around all day (stilling raining) but cant go past 2500rpm before it starts to jerk. I checked the MAF and they seem to be fine. Can the MAF be installed wrong into the intake even if the clip is in tight? When it's nice any dry out, I have no problems what so ever.

Your MAF sensors are getting wet, which is what is causing them to trip out like that. Doesnt take much water at all for them to start doing that.

Take them out, dry them off, and let them sit outside of the tubes for a few hours before re-installing them. You aren't letting them dry off, which is what is causing it to happen repeatedly.
