i have tanabe mufflers, which state a 2" OD at the muffler inlet, so the way i see it theres no way for me to avoid the bottleneck there. i wonder if thats my rasp, or if going with a larger mid/Y would cure it

I have a Crossover Infiniti EX35 and it is known to EX35 forum that a G coupe muffler bolts right into our car with no mods. This is the reason I posted the G37 coupe Pipe diameters for comparison. Our EX35 Exhaust system are way smaller in pipe diameter than the G coupe.

Here is my car with stock Midpipe(smaller than G coupe) , Ypipe and cat. The only thing that was changed is the muffler from the G37 coupe.

Car is already warmed up.

Here is one of our forum members with the same setup as mine, but during cold start.

This is a stock exhaust EX35 normal sound. (Cold start) skip to 1:33 for reving the engine.
The stock sound does not have the Big cat roar like the G37.

As you can see, just the muffler alone change the way it sound.

I finally installed a G37 coupe Y-pipe and midpipe ( together with the old G37 coupe muffler that I installed a year ago.)

Car is an EX35 crossover.

If you have an 08 35hr i dont believe a coupe exhaust will bolt up. If you have test pipes or hfcs and are getting rasp...stock exhaust is too small in diameter. I have hfcs and an exhaust depot y pipe with stock set up and had rasp..put on my exoticspeed exhaust y pipe back...rasp eliminated. What exactly are you trying to go for here and with what mods ???

i have a 350z hr y pipe, which has a larger diameter than our Gs for whatever reason, that im going to install hopefully this weekend. i have a little rasp, nothing bad, but id like to clean it up.

bad part is that stock mid pipe is still going to be there

My question is, are the cats for the coup 2.5 vs 2.25 for the sedan? If so I would like to look into getting the larger diameter cats for my exhaust since I have a sedan. I live in cali so hfc are out of the question, I wonder if using a coupe stock cat with the larger diameter would be of any benefit and still keep me legal. It would mate up well with my ark catback that I already have on my car.
