HFC?? Worth it,
Ok just looking to change to tone some, and add some HP. Was thinking either HFC's or Exhaust depot's Y pipe. The only reason I'm debating is I just saw I dyno that the HFC's only added 10 WHP( G37X) and the Exhaust depot's Y pipe claims the same thing.. I had two REALLY bad experiences with HFC's and not sure if I wanna go down that road again,, HUGE tread of mine in G35Driver and lost the car for like 6 months to the dealer trying to figure out the issue.. Just looking for some options.. Y pipe VS HFC. WHP gain sound, and price. + The HFC's are a PIA install

Nice read again, But he ran test pipes and a CBE so he removed all the restriction in the exhaust.( Car was proably loud as Hell).. I do not plan on changing the whole system just looking for one or the other Y pipe or cats.. So if you take the typical gains on CBE out ( What 10-12 WHP) It still made good numbers at 20 WHP or so. could not find anyting on the Y pipe other the the exhaust depots site.. but for the total diff of -10 WHP I still may stay away from the HFC's.

i really like my test pipes, they really made the stock exhaust sound better. And i have noticed a buttdyno gain in the mid-high rpm. imo its worth it, the instal is hard IF you dont have the right tools. GET:
PB BLASTER OR KROIL (A MUST!!!)
3 1/2" 10" extentsions
Appropriate sockets (cant remember size)
a 1/2" torque wrench (A MUST). I used a 1/2" 2-3 foot long torque wrench
o2 sensor socket
and stripped bolt extractor (Saved me ***)

A little thread jack, but at least on subject - I already have HFCs but have not installed them yet. I'm also a little worried about the rasp and was thinking;
Do you think if I had Exhaust Depot do there y-pipe and add resonators, would it still be a beneficial gain, and would it help with rasp but still sound good?
