That's awesome, glad to hear someone else has used their products before.

Thanks.

Curious as to why you opted for the drop-in filter vice the CAI.

Haven't put them in yet, maybe today when I move some cars around. I doubt I'm going to notice anything different, but I'll keep everyone posted. As why I went with the drop-in filter.. I didn't want to install intakes on this car since I'm trying to keep it relatively stock and the factory airboxes aren't that bad. The only intake I would consider if I had to install them would be the Stillen G3's, but they are too much of a hassle for cleaning.

That's my reasoning also. Yes keep us posted. I was going to order the HKS ones a while ago. But the foam did not earn my confidence.

Ok so I got to installing the filters today. They fit very snug, almost too snug due to the rubber construction of the filter housing. I had to wiggle them down into position and carefully re-clamp the filter holder. There seems to be a lot of tension on the clips now so hopefully they don't pop open, will have to re-check them. The OE paper filters fit perfectly, while the HKS I had fit pretty loose.

Guess I don't have to worry about anything getting past the filter medium due to the fit. Haven't had a chance to really get on it, but I'm not really expecting anything - they are again just drop-in filters not an intake. I'll be driving the car tomorrow so maybe I'll have a chance to hit it a little (weather pending..)

If you got a good price on them, mind sharing where you bought them?

A place called Partstrain.com seemed to have the best price I could find with a coupon code and free shipping.

I checked the air boxes after a few days of driving and they are still closed so that's good. In terms of performance, my butt dyno doesn't show any gains, but I wasn't really expecting any. No change in intake sound that I can tell.

ive used these on the G before as well. Definitely a type fit for the filter in the airbox frame. i ended up selling them and just using OEM filters. If you are wanting a reusable filter with good filtration and flow, then AFE is definitely better than K&N (in my opinion).

I'm curious why the dry filters over the oiled? How long will these last. I'm assuming they'll pay for themselves over the use of 45k (given 15k intervals on OEM paper filters).

I'd just want a reusable filter that's comparable to stock and will last me 60k+

Either that or stick with the OEMs at 15k intervals.

I didn't want to deal with re-oiling and having potential MAF sensor issues.

I just got these filters today, and man they do change the sound of the engine. It sounds deeper and a little bit louder than before. Overall, it sounds nice so far. They are a snug fit but they get in there with a bit more persuasion.

I too purchased the AFE filters a couple of months back and i don't know if they make any kind of difference but they look and feel better than the stock air filters.
