Sad as it sounds yes. I asked a question earlier today...is there a wrong way to plug in a sensor....answer is yes. Apparently both sides do not have the same plugs. At least on my car they didn't So I bent a pin or two in the sensor with white plugs.

I actually looked up the parts at advanced auto parts and it seems out of 3 in my local area, one store has the part. So I'll be headed there early in the AM as soon as they open up shop.

Problem solved. So yeah the pins were kinda bent beyond repair....dunno how that happened, but it MIGHT have something to do with my GF helping me and rushing things. MIGHT lol.
A note on the MAF though. The sensor terminal on the right side (facing the car) is different than the one on the left. The right side had a white little extension piece or something. I went to advance auto parts and got the new MAF, but of course it didn't have that white piece inside that I was talking about. Me and the store clerk looked at it for a while and realized that you can take out that white piece and it will then look like the terminal on the left side.
So i bought it and went home and took out the white piece from the MAF connector and voila!!! My car is running now. Great at that. Notes on what I noticed after the successful install:
Runs smoother in 5th gear when going 60-70 mph than before.
Sounds a tad bit throatier (is that a word?)
And a possible placebo but it seems like my cars accelerates quicker then before in 3rd and 4th gear.
