Red face Looking for a throaty exhaust system, not ricey!

I am selling my heavily modded 5.0 mustang which has a very throaty, muscle car sounding exhaust. When I get the g37, I would like to install an exhaust system that has a similar sound. I know I am not going to get the "Detroit muscle" sounds, but I just hate the damn "fart amplifier" exhausts that so many ricers have. Any suggestions on exhausts to check out?

I just installed the Stillen catback and love the sound. After the engine warms up for a few minutes there is no rasp at all...good luck with your search!

Check out HKS, Ark, and MXP, they are all very popular.

If you want a throaty muscle car sounding exhaust... why are you selling your mustang?

The VQ will never sound like a high displacement V8.

Good question. I am moving to an area where the car won't even come close to passing emissions, and it's getting old. Though still in great shape, I've decided to sell it to someone else before I need to replace the tranny or head gasket or whatever. I also would just like a nice new car, with the amenities of a newer car, less creaks and rattles, etc.

The other option is to just store the mustang until I can make it emissions legal, or until it passes the emissions exemption cutoff.

Borla and Magnaflow make exhausts for the G37, whose names you should be familiar with coming from the mustang world.

FAST INTENTIONS is what you are looking for , ive cruised next to GT mustangs and This thing sounds very throaty and reminds me of my 96 Z28/SS camaro with Flowmaster 2 chamber exhaust.

I have had nismo Catback on my 350z , also HKS HI-Power , and hands down FAst Int is the best for Z/Gs very smooth/deep//throaty/zero rasp exhaust def retains the VQ note and it's just a very mean sounding Amp up VQ! ARK seems to be right where Fast Int is but personally never heard it, but sounds deep in vids, Eliminate HKS /MXP/Stillen from your list I'm sure a lot of people would agree that Fast Int FTW...
