Hey guys,

As the title says, I am looking for a decent, loud exhaust with no "rasp" sound in the upper RPM range. The 3.7 motor sounds so much different with exhaust than the old 3.5 (coming from a 350z) and I am looking for something to replicate the tone of that old exhaust. Not sure why the 3.7 sounds so much different, does anyone know? For refrence, I had the Nismo catback on my old Z for awhile and it wasn't loud enough. I then picked up the TurboXS catback and it was perfect. Loud, deep tone with a load on it with no rasp at all. I am an active member in a local G club so I've heard quite a few different ones installed on G's, heres my take on each one. Let me know if you have any ideas.

Stillen cat-back: sounds good at idle, quiet. Rasp at high RPM's.
Borla cat-back: same as Stillen, more pronounced rasp at high RPM's
Magnaflow cat-back: No rasp, but not loud enough.
Magnaflow cat-back w/ HFCs: No rasp, but surprisingly not loud enough.
Fast Intentions CF: Sound excellent, but again its not loud enough for me with a load on it.
Fast Intentions CF w/ HFC's: Sounds great at idle, but with the HFC's I'm hearing a rasp at high RPM's.

Maybe I'm being too picky here and trying to do something that is not possible, but I'm in for any ideas y'all may have. I guess I just got too used to the deep throaty sound of the 3.5.

i had the same setup with my 04 Z. nismo and popcharger. sounded ungodly good but i wanted it louder. should have gotten HFCs. now i am back to square one with just injen SRI

Yeah I know what you are saying about the Nismo....sounds awesome, just not loud enough, even with HFC's. I think the BEST sounding exhaust for the 3.5 is the HKS, IMO. I was happy with my TurboXS though, always got compliments on it.

I looking for exhaust too, I've got stuck in here, dont know which one to pick.

Haven't heard either one of those in person. The internet is full of sound clips but they can't be relied upon for this sort of thing, thats why I was hoping to hear from some other people.

I'm really curious to see if anyone has an in person comparison for the G35 and the G37 HKS.

That doesn't help us any...when WILL it be available?

Granted, it doesn't have the V8 burble or anything, but for a V6 it sounds pretty good. And the 3.7 just didn't come through in the exhaust note department.

what he said! I've heard all of these in person and from what ure saying ARK might be what ure looking for.

Deepest sounding exhaust I've heard on our cars, and loud too.
