Since the HKS is an axle back and the stock resonators are kept in place, the sound is very similiar to the stock exhaust at speed. The only real difference is when you are on throttle and then it has a really nice deep tone.
As for looks, the HKS is a much more aggressive look on the sedan........
I love mine.

hks or tanabe
hks is a full exhaust and gives nice gains and sounds like a monster.
tanabe is an axle back.
I personally don't see the point of dropping 600 bucks,for a muffler.
it's not a cat back.
if you want sound without the gains and just wanna get rid of the stock crappy muffler.
I suggest you do some research.
exhaust systems for this car are $$.
you can also check greddy ti-c.

hks has been around a long time, imo it is the best sounding exhaust(other than borla)

I think tanabe is a better alternative to keeping it stockish look with sound... and not dropping lots of cash. Just saying... I did some research.

hey guys, just want to clarify, mine is sedan, so HKS one is only muffler not the full system. I do like the Gemini and Greddy SE, but I'm not ready to get the full cat back yet. so comparing the HKS and Tanabe muffler I picked the Tanabe. since it looks little nicer than the HKS. just got it installed yesterday. I can't even tell the sound different inside. I think it's what I'm looking for at current stage.
Again, thanks guys for sharing your opinion!

Just wait for their full exhaust =] It looks like it made quite great numbers.

Pictures on the Sedan. I am going Tanabe...but would like to see it too...I see it's about 14 mm larger diameter than other exhausts like Invidia....hoping it does not look coffee can like? As far as sounds go...at this point in my life, something that is stock sounding until you romp on it is prrrrrfect for me...and as they break in if they get a little more aggressive even better.
