Magnaflow Catback Exhaust Buzz..Help

What up Fam,

Had a shop install my Magnaflow Catback last week. Since they put it on I notice a buzzing sound when I accelerate hard or sometimes when I down shift. I checked all the clamps and connections and didn't find any leaks. I searched the site and found a couple of threads about the same issue but didn't find a answer. Does anyone have any insight on what is causing this annoy buzzing sound?

Can you record a video of it so we can tell you if it's normal or not?

Berk HFC's and magnaflow cat back here and no buzz but I'm definitely keeping an eye on this thread. Only buzz I have is something somewhere in the dash but I had it with the stock exhaust as well and only at WOT and very randomly.

mike i tried pmming you back and it wouldnt let me for like two days....but listen the rattling is the cross brace in the middle of the car...the exhaust moves enough to reach and hit it...a quick solution would be to space the piece down a lil bit...good luck

I was hoping you would post a reply NJlake.... Could you bend the bracket and leave it in the same place?

^yeah you can do that. But, recording a video will help because there are too many possible noises from the exhaust lol.

I have to find the charger for my Digital Camera so I can record some videos.

This morning on my way to work the buzz wasnt so bad. You could still hear but it wasnt as loud. Maybe I just granny shifting lol.

I had the same thing happening to me when it was first installed.. after sometime it just went away.

But do what NJLAKESHOREG said to space out the cross brace in the middle of the car, my exhaust would hit againt it when I accelerated, then spaced it out and perfectly fine now.

Is it a buzz from the actual sound of the exhaust or something else? If it's from the sound of the exhaust, adding a resonator would help out.

i have the same set up and it could be two things, the hfcs are very powerful and there is no counterweight on the flex pipe so it rattles, and then also it could be the middle brace, but either way it could be both because it happens between 2 and 3k rpms

It sounds like it the bracket that is vibrating....I took off my Jwt pop chargers off and the vibration wasn't as loud. Hopefully I'll have some time this weekend to get the car on a lift...

In my case, I remember the exhaust pipes used to vibrate against the underbrace causing some sort of rattling rather than buzzing. We put two washers on each side to push the brace down and the sound was gone. If that's not the case, then lift the car up and inspect. Shouldn't be something major.

I had the same problem as well, it was the brace and the shop fixed in no time. I do have an exhaust leak thats getting quite annoying at high rpms..need to stop being lazy and get it fixed..

love the exhaust though, wish the tips had a better shinier finish though..
