Removing Silencer from Megan racing exhaust (Sound clip inside)

It doesn't look as if there are any bolts left to remove. Used some PB blaster for lubricant to try to loosen them up some and am using small vice grip to pull them out but they're not budging one bit. Anyone have any good suggestion.

Update: got them off. pix and sound clip inside

I did and sent her a PM. She had some difficulty as well and basically said to pull on it. At this point I'm wondering is there is anything else but the two bolts holding it in place but I doubt it.

Glad you do but that ain't helping me much. It starting to budge a lil. I took a little knife to it and got it between the silencer and the exhaust. slowly working my way around and blasting with PB blaster to help loosing it up. seems to be doing the trick.

Well I got mine off. I used the Mexican Sliding hammer. It concists of a crowbar, vice grips, and a hammer. Put the hook side of the crobar in side the exhaust and hook it into th end of the silencer. Apply the grips at the butt end of the crowbar. Hammer towards you and keep doing till they pop out.

Yup just two bolts. I called megan to confirm. If you can find a slide hammer for sure use that. I had no luck at home depot, pep boys, and auto zone had one but no attachment with a hook.

Sorry guys. I forgot to explain that portion. I have a lot of spare parts laying around the garage so I fabbed something up real quick to pull it out. My creation was a little ghetto, so I didn't want to include it in the video. I figured this problem was only with my exhaust, and it was easily taken care of, so I didn't want to announce it.

I made my "Silencer puller" out of two 1/2" carriage bolts. I used one nut to hold them together in the middle. Looked kinda like this:

(]=====[ ]======[)

/\ /\ /\
Bolt Nut Bolt

I tucked the head of one of the bolts in behind the silencer so it gripped onto the backside (to pull it forward). I then clipped a set of large vise grips onto the threaded portion of the other bolt.

I tapped on the pair of vise grips with a small sledge until the whole assembly slid out.
