My New Injen SRI
So Friday the UPS guy delivered a great treat for my G, the newly released Injen SRI. A few of you had asked for a few specific things regarding the SRI for the G37.....hopefully I can help. I installed the new intakes today (which took a little longer than "making popcorn" or "15 mins")....but I'm a complete NEWB when it comes to cars, so I took my time and triple checked everything. I'm not wanting to F up a $45k car.
Anyways, the install was basically straightforward. The instructions were good, but not great. Didn't make EVERYthing perfectly clear, but good enough for the install. Finally got everything connected and attached, started the car up, and she came to life with a new set of lungs.
Here are the installed pics:
Also, a few of you have asked for in-cabin video sound clips. I uploaded 2 different vids of after install, 1st is windows down (which DEFINITELY sounds like the traditional intake sound that I've heard on other vids), and the other with the windows up....and you can STILL tell a difference.
Windows down with SRI:

Windows up with SRI:
<object type="application/x-shockwave-flash" data="http://www.flickr.com/apps/video/stewart.swf?v=71377" classid="clsid<img src=" http:="" g35driver.com="" forums="" images="" smilies="" biggrin.gif="" alt="" title="Big Grin" smilieid="4" class="inlineimg" border="0" height="300" width="400"></object><embed type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" src="http://i609.photobucket.com/player.swf?file=http://vid609.photobucket.com/albums/tt175/KnoxvilleG37/MOV00332.flv" height="361" width="448">
Of note, at high RPMs (6000+), my dash hums/rattles at a high frequency which is kinda cool but unexpected. I doubt it'll be a problem or an annoyance....just something interesting of note. I'm currently resetting my ECU with the overnight battery disconnect (which I'm not sure is necessary, but am doing it as suggested anyways).
So, as of right now, they're sexy as hell....they sound great when they suck in all of that air......as far as MPG issues or performance, etc...I guess time will tell. As of this post, I average 19.5-19.8 mpg on the stock setup. I will update after a few weeks of having these on to see if those numbers change. Hope you consider trying these babies out, hell the Amsoil Ea Nanofiber filters are worth it....I think you'll be very happy with them! Thanks again to Lou at Amplified Motorsport for the awesome deal on this product!.

Yeah absolutely go do it. Samantha posted that they only have 2 sets left (polished). I'm a complete newb, so it took me a little while, but I never felt like it was out of my skill level. They sound sick!
Definitely post up when you get yours...Like I said, the Amsoil filters alone are worth it!! Let me know if you have any other questions!!

you don't mean throwing up on these right
I'm really close to getting these so if your interested then we can hit up Lou and see if he will give us a discount if we both get these from him at the same time
I had Lou pm me a price acouple weeks ago, and didn't seem to bad so hopefully there still available for that price
I am also debating about getting CAI's too but I just think this is the next best thing, easier to install, no bumper removal, and no smaller washer resivoir
etc...
so let me know

I was thinking maybe getting the black ones, but either one is fine with me
so the Amsoil filters you don't have to oil them up right
how often do you have to clean them
oh and how are the heat shields
my main concern on these are heat soak
even though from what I read it's a non issue with these because the heat shields are good
just wanted your opinion on them

- The instructions and the Amsoil website say that the filters can be cleaned once a year/25,000 miles. (more frequently in very dusty conditions). They have a service life of 100,000mi before needing to be replaced. I don't know that I'll go 4 years without replacing them, but we'll see. Here's the Amsoil link about the filters: http://www.amsoil.com/storefront/eaa.aspx
- The heat shields seem to work well. After my test run last night (and I punched it up to 6-7k RPMs a few times and was at speeds around 100-120, I checked them and the heat shields were a kinda warm....but the filters were no where NEAR as warm. So I'm thinking the shields do their job. They seem to be a bit more substantial than other brands of intakes I've seen..... I just can't wait to use these on a cool morning in the 40's-50's and hear them suck in the cold air!
BUY THEM MAN!!!!!!
