Yeah, I thought it was because of the black glossy finish. That rubber piece was also a lil oily. I also wiped the rubber connector and the intake tube with iso alcohol. Did helped a lil bit.

I drove around last night, intakes growl is very noticeable at around 3.5K to 4K rpm. I don't really feel any low end torque loss. Maybe my butt dyno needs calibrating. I checked the rubber connectors this morning and everything's nice and tight.

Overall, I'm happy with them. Hopefully it stays that way.

Nope I completely agree... I was crazy for thinking there was a loss in the low end. And the growl I hear coming from those intakes.....I LOVE it. I was leaving a shopping center the other day, had the windows down so I could hear my baby purr....and as I got the green light to turn, I saw a guy in his car waiting to turn kinda nod when he heard my engine and kept watching my car drive by.....I love my G and my Injens!

I have recieved and installed this injen SRI today.

What a difference! It grows aloud!!
But it kills the original VQ sound, IMO. I like the sound w/ the Injen though, LOL.

I wouldn't say the quality is perfect. The quality is 8 out of 10 points.

I 'felt' some power losses in the low end when the air was hot.
But, I 'felt' more pulls when the air became cold.

Since I didn't care much about the gain or the loss, the Injen SRI is great, overall.

I can't help but rev above 4k rpm every time right now.

ANy of you guys noticed a drop in your mpg after these intakes.

I've had mine for about a week now and my mpg is down by 2-3, at 15mpg. And to make it worst, gas here in Guam went up by 14 cents last week.

I guess sounding this good has it's price.

Mine might have dropped 1-2 mpg in the city, but on the highway it's still the same as before.

My highway mpg is around the same as stock, maybe 0.5mpg loss at most. I do mainly highway driving with my G anyways.

I just wanted to comment about the rubber connector slipping off the tube. I have the black intakes and it was pissing me off that they kept slipping. Finally put some black electrical tape around the polished tube where the clamp would hit. That seemed to give it more grip and you will never see the tape.

I installed mine ~ 4 months ago but never got it fitted perfectly. How did you get this part to hang on to the screw...mine would just kind just hang there in the air.

You talking about the screw that connects the heat shield to the radiator shroud? In this picture hear the coolant reservoir? You have to tuck that tab into the little slot where that screw goes. It's kinda hard to explain, but you should be able to tuck the tab inside and secure it down with the screw. Give it a try!
