Magnaflow void warranty?

Does anyone know if installing a magnaflow catback will void the warranty on my lease?

Not unless they can prove that the catback caused a particular failure. As an example, if one of your rear O2 sensors or cats go out, they may be able to make a reasonable argument that the catback had something to do with it and deny coverage. If your airbag malfunctions, they could not make the same argument.

In general you are protected my the Magnunson-Moss act. This basically says they have to prove that the aftermarket part caused the failure. Now this is somewhat of a slippery slope with dealers because they are usually slimey bastards, but in the long run you are protected (with some dealers you may have a fight on your hands).

I hate to reference Wikipedia, but it will point you in the direction of more info on this. Anyone that installs aftermarket parts on their car should be familiar with this.

LMFAO @ Shumby!! Hey We need to meet up soon. I decided to go with the magnaflow catback instead of the FI (for now lol) I decided to drop 3k on my 09 R1 first then concentrate on the car.

+1 on magnaflows. I'm saving the additional 600-700 on a CBR600.
