I feel you all man, honestly.. I get what your saying. I just think IMO they went to hard to convince people of their prestige and quality and then fell VERY short....
Not sure how me actually owning the product has anything to do with my argument...My argument is SOLELY based on their marketing, promises and claims..That is where i am coming from... A company that can guarantee quality ETC ETC ETC......And then not be able to produce 22 fully functional LIMITED EDITION intakes, does not speak well AT ALL for that company or ANY of their products..That is what i have been trying to say... I would not need to actually own the intake to hold this opinion.

that's not the point jarborn1.. he's saying if anyone thinks the intake is too expensive or not worth the money, just don't buy it and stay away. No need for hate. And regarding the marketing hype, I honestly think SE played a great deal of it. But that's how business is.. talk about ethics.. it's more like being happy with your own purchase, why should people who is willing to spend $800 on SE SRI listen to what anyone has to say? Now I would understand IF the OP starts bashing SE I would think it's alright. But then people coming in from nowhere starting talking shit about SE falsified and extravagant claims.. what's the hate for?
On the side note, I don't own any SE products and never planned on getting any either. And besides, the bandwagon hype is where people who don't actually own or owned a product and give opinions on it. I admit I am guilty for it too. When everyone says injen cai is good (though it really is imo), I go injen injen injen too.

Lol...the Injen is nice...VERY loud, hurt my ears at WOT while I was in another car actually.
Only reason why I mentioned jumping the bandwagon of bashing is because I've been there, done the same thing myself and didn't realize I took my opinion a bit too far, maybe in my case more than just a bit....oops? haha

Yessss we just got back in town after a long weekend at Extreme Auto Fest in Los Angeles. I would like to thank everyone for chiming in to create a 11 page thread! This issue must be dealt with in a professional manner, and all I focus on is DR.JONES's concern, not any other ranting that may be in the 11 pages.
I am sorry for how this particuar kit turned out. It is the FIRST kit to have ANY issues, so we take this seriously, and would Quality Check all other intakes to ensure perfect fitment before sending out. Our mass airflow sensor blocks are custom CNC'd to a 99% fitment. Somehow there was a flaw on that block
Here is a email sent to Daniel Jones a few minutes ago regarding this concern:
Hi Daniel,
Sorry to respond a few days later, I just got on the computer after the long weekend showing at Extreme Auto Fest Los Angeles. I am very sorry with how this particular kit turned out for you. I would like to give you a couple options which you could choose. We could exchange with you another full intake kit, and you can send this back to us to inspect what went wrong. Or, you may have a full refund of the purchase amount for the intakes. Either way, we are very sorry for your experience with this particuar kit as you are the FIRST to experience ANY issues at all. For your inconvenience, we would like to offer you an additional $50 discount for any future Status Elite products you may have. You would need to notify any Status Elite vendor for them to request an additional $50 deduction passed along from Status Elite. Sorry for all your troubles, and I would like to try my best to resolve this issue as soon as possible.
