AFR is not the only parameter that should be used. Tuning is an iteration process and parameters such as EGT, Torque curve, WB02 (if you have one) help complete the puzzle. If your at 12.5, but peak torque with headers, intake and cat back exhaust is still lower than stock, you know you certainly HAVEN'T reached optimal AFR and are still lean. Peak torque will without a doubt be higher than stock, afterall your increasing volumetric efficiency. Start from a point at which you know is rich and lean until you see torque start to drop, richen a bit and this should be close optimal.

Because they're using ARF only to tune an engine. Thats what Im trying to explain here. There are other pieces to the puzzle too.

Dayum look at those OEM headers.. stillen probably replicated their design but used stainless steel instead and made them look shiny. Those OEM headers are already equal length.

I dont think piping can be any bigger since the steering shaft sits right next to em.

^ ouch! The idea of headers being pointless even after a tune is starting to grow in me

They have some reviews that after the tune gains are there. I talked to Cobb and there is a couple parameters (timing, air flow etc.) involved to really see the results.

Mods are similar but hes 6mt and I am 5at. Could that be the difference in loss of torque?

No, I don't think because the calibration for stage 2 is high flow cats and exhaust only, not intakes. No wonder people are making better gains with stock map, their a/f ratios are thrown when they add short ram and cold air intakes. I've used Cobb in my last vehicle and they know what they're doing and what they're talking about. They're professional tuners, so if they say 12.5 - 12.8 is where you want to be at WOT... then I'd go by that before anyone else's theory.

I've got Cobb helping me with a custom tune in the next couple weeks, and I'm going to do a before and after dyno to see what kind of power can be cranked out with my mods.

I made a lot with my accessport on my last vehicle and it was extremely safe as it was on the richer side.

I like the a.p for just the fact that it is small and easy to use. I dont like their maps just the custom maps you have to pay even more for to get results.
