You guys felt gain with the Tanabe axle back??

Where? Up top or across the power band? Because I didn't feel anything except for my foot smashing the petal.

I don't know if you've mellowed off yet from listening to the sound. But have you noticed your MPG going up about 1 mpg.

Nope I haven't mellowed out yet. But mpg is not really accurate at the moment because I waste a lot of time warming up the engine, which kills my mpg rating

Yes, I feel like my MPG did go up. My last tank was 22.3 MPG (granted a good chunk was highway). Normally, I'd have to try really hard to get that kind of number, but it wasn't the case.

Right now, I'm at 20.2 mpg with about a 34 mph average, but I've been gunning it a little more. I'm just happy that I didn't LOSE mpg. My Accord's mileage dropped significantly when I installed Greddy MX's (although they were catbacks..)

As far as power gains, I can't really tell. Butt dyno isn't really picking up anything. I'm sure I gained a few hp, but nothing out of this world...

I think if anything, the power gain is more in the mid-range. I just need to drive it more to be sure. I don't want to do any more mods. I like the way it feels now and any changes may hamper it. If MPGs are increased, then great. We'll see. Car is currently in the shop having Eibachs installed then spoiler on Friday.

A year an a half later and I still haven't mellowed out on my driving to be able to look at MPG..lol. That would be like a talkaholic having to be quiet for a couple weeks...arrgg. I still get about 18-19 though opening the throttle at every available opportunity.

The exhaust looks great, and installation doesn't look to difficult either.

Thanks for the write up on the install! I've ordered my own Tanabe and it should be here for next week. Looks like a pretty straightforward install. Glad to hear everyone is satisfied with it.

I have had my Tanabe exhaust for about a year now and I noticed it is melting my rear bumper

Have you noticed anything like that on your car? Anyone else with Tanabe notice this? I installed the exhaust per their instructions so I don't see why I would be the only one this is happening to.

I think a lot of that has to do with where you live... I use to live in Yuma and remember cooking eggs on top of my grill with it off. No damage here and I have Vinyl even near it, although I haven't taken many 8 hour long trips.. mostly 2-4 hours max. I'm not getting the CF diffuser though because of it, the distance is perfect as is and even though they say it will withstand the heat I don't like the idea of it touching my exhaust.

Yeah, it get's extremely warm here in Phoenix so that is partially to blame I'm sure. Oh well, more **** to charge me for when I turn the lease in next year I guess.

Hey Seatownboy,

Does your setup sound like this?

I wasnt sure if the setup in this video is a cat back or axel back. I like how this sounds.

oh one more thing. How does it sounds when your cruising about 80 mph on the highway for 2 hrs? Does it drown out the music?
