I'm at work now, can't seem to get photobucket to work. The two holes that hold the silencer in are pretty close to the tip (Maybe 1"-1.5" away from the edge of the tip).
Based on the design I don't see how they could be any further in because when installed, the silencers are only recessed a little bit. If the holes were tucked any further in, you'd never be able to get the nut off the back side of the hex since it is a double wall silencer.
The tips are not adjustable in length. I am personally happy with their length. Just enough to say "Yeah, I got a lil' something under there."
The burnt tip look has grown on me since installation. I wasn't too crazy about it, but once it's installed, it looks pretty cool. I've received a ton of compliments.

Sounds good, not too loud nor raspy. Pictures would be great when you get it working. Thanks.

Yeah, you would leave the hex out when you remove the silencers. It's pointless to have them in there otherwise.
You have two small holes in the lower portion of your tip. Not a big deal at all.

I haven't heard the greddy on a g in person but the baffles have broken in a bit since the video was shot. No rattles or rasps, but IMO if it were much louder I wouldn't like it. It is an Infiniti afterall, not a Camaro.

As promised... I probably could've taken more care when removing the hex screws as not to scratch the finish on the tip, but I'm thinking about possibly polishing it off anyway. The scratches just prove that, for those who don't like the finish, it can come off.
If you look closely, you'll see that the tip is held on by four rivets. It is not even welded on. As BB said, any good muffler shop can replace them with a 4" tip of your choice. Hell, if you drill the holes in the new tip precisely enough and own a rivet gun, you can replace them yourself.

37drift,
Thank you for making my life a lil more harder. Now that I have another exhaust added to my list of choices.
Great write up and video.
How are the burnt finish in the tips holding up? Unlike you, I'd like to keep them on.
And could you please show more pics of the rear of the car from different camera height. I'd like to see how much of the center part of the exhaust can be seen from the back of the car.
