LOL...why wont you guys just save up some more money, its not that hard.
I know back then in the G35 days they had a saying (headers but using it as a example), "why buy 1 set of Megan headers, just spend a little more and buy the good stuff and buy it once, With how much Megan goes for, might as well buy 2, cause when 1 cracks you still got the other one hahahahaha"

^^ I definatly feel ya on that.. It is just hard to justify spending $1400+ on an exhaust when you could spend less then $500 and still get the same gains..(Magnaflow)
I doubt MeganRacing exhaust will break down and faster than any of the more high priced exhausts...
7hp is 7hp why spend $1,000+ more to get it ?
Edit: Some people just buying strictly for sound, so performance doesnt even play a role in their decisions.

Im a quality guy, if it aint quality brand name forget it, i'd be embarrass as a enthusiast to say I have a megan racing exhaust, and thats the truth, but this is My Opinion. I'll admitt when i first got into playing with my G as a hobby, I was looking into Megan topspeedpro all that crap and buying them, but then learned and switched them out. I look at it different, ur spending so much $$ already so might as well make it worthwhile, we work hard for our money, why settle for less? I can see your opinion too. If my personal friend bought Megan Id just call him a cheapasss lol

Haha, i feel ya man..
I agree with the quality argument, what's the point of spending $45k+ on a car to put crap parts on..
Just saying for people who were looking simply to change the sound Megan could be an option.. I was curious to hear what it sounds like.
That's all dog, hopefully MXP will be in my near future.

in agreement with both of you, im in it for the sound and sound only
so justifying 400$ for the same sound at 1400$ is common sense
and as far as quality, sure i want the best quality part for the price. but given im in it for the sound i dont see what harm an exhaust can do unless it blows up and my rear end flies up from the ground and forcing me to do a front flip

The way I see it. If I spend the$360 something this exhaust cost and it turns out it sound too raspy or too loud, it is small loss compared to the a few thousands. I too did my research and Megan may not be top of the line but it's still a good product. The difference between the top brand name and midrange brand name isn't quality, it's how much history both company have. I'm only going for looks (like the burnt tip look) and sound for now so this will do just fine. I figured by next year there should be a supercharger set up available at which point I'll fork out the cash for the exhaust I truly want.

Hang tight guys. It's on it's way now, though I'm across the country, so it might be about a week.
For those arguing about putting a cheap part on a $40,000+ car, I understand where you're coming from. I've personally found myself very happy with my previous Megan exhaust... To each his/her own. If spending more money on something makes you feel like you put a "Higher quality" piece on your ride, awesome. I've also had Greddy, HKS and 5zigen exhaust systems on my Subaru and DSM's. Quite honestly there was very little (if any) difference in quality. The welds on Megan's product were perfect, and it was quite apparant that they spared no expense in delivering a solid product.
I will be sure to show closeup's of the product in my review to show that this isn't exactly Ebay - SS Autocrap quality we're dealing with.
As you all know, a muffler is going to deliver next to no performance increase. I'm doing this mainly for sound and to add a little shine to the backside of my car.
My thought is that not too much can go wrong with an axle-back exhaust. If it fits well, looks good, sounds good and lasts a while, what more could you ask for? The fact that an expensive name is not etched on the tips doesn't matter much to me.
