Cali is trying to become Green! Sheesh maybe our Terminator Gov shouldbe less worried about Carb emission and more worried about the gazillion debt we are in in Cali.

Berk, is it still illegal to get the HFCs installed? If we buy it "out of states"

Installing our BERK HFC's are no more or less legal than installing any non-CARB legal part. Headers for example, put you in the same position as our HFC's. You will still pass smog, but because it does not carry the state's CARB plate, they're not legal in CA. So the short answer is no.

Your front window tint is also "illegal" in CA as well, but that doesn't mean tint shops won't tint your car!

Hope that helps.

I can speak for the Berks...My SES light went off after about 1 month of ownership...It goes away for a day or two from time to time then comes back...I've learned to deal with it...

The sound and performance gained is well worth the small light...For anyone that hasn't heard Berk HFCs with a stock exhaust do yourself a favor and find someone who can give you a listen....It's a great sound...It can be quiet with no drone, or you can smash the gas and listen to an incredible growl....

I scared the $hit out of a 350z owner the other day....His face was priceless...

You can clear the CEL's with the correct tools. A standard CAN bus scanner will do it. Just cleared one off our 2008 135i.

Certain codes will remain in memory after you clear them. So the dealer will be able to see them, even if your CEL light is off.

does that mean they can give you crap about it and void your warranty? what are these "certain codes" versus others that don't stay in the memory?

"improbable fuel calculation" or something. That's something you can get from running too "hot" of a tune or piggy back on the BMW's. Those codes you can only erase with an Autologic or Group Tester 1 scanner. Those are dealer level scan tools that are able to go deep inside the BMW software. The data there is beyond the reach of your run of the mill OBD or CAN bus scanner.

This was a stab at BMW that clearly got away.

I have the GTM TP on my car with NO SES lights. Asside from the noise, I don't think the SES light cares whether or not the car is boosted. But be prepared for exhaust fumes.
