received the Y-Pipe from Motordyne

got it this morning, it's a nice piece of work. Looks very professionally welded and very solid. I paid some $$$ for this so that is what I would expect. It's f-ing cold as hell here so gonna have to wait for warmer days to work in the garage, hopefully next weekend. Is this any better than Y-pipes at half the price?? Don't know but I like the option of swapping in the straight pipe or resonator or even catalytic converter on the collector end.

I would like to know how you like the Motordyne once you have a chance to put it on.

Great review, thanks. It helped convince me to pull the trigger on it today. Can't wait until it comes in!

I hope so.

As far as power gains, did you notice/feel anything (not that I'm expecting much)? I'm a bit skeptical about the 7-8 hp gain I read about on another thread, especially from an axle back setup. But hey, I'm an optimistic guy

Also, how much did your gas mileage decrease?

Power gains I might have felt a slight increse. If anything its in the middle of the RPM range. 7-8 might be a little much. More like 4-5. Match this with a y pipe though and ive heard some very noticable gains can be achieved. I will probably do this eventually. As far as gas mileage i havent really noticed any change at all. Especially not a decrease. My average is still pretty much the same.

agree with wakeboarder. it looks good and sounds good, but no noticeable change in power. I have the motordyne y-pipe but haven't installed it yet since it's been too cold to work outside here lately, hopefully this weekend.

I can't say with 100% certainty, but I think I loss some MPG since I took the Tanabe exhuast off, maybe by just under 1 mpg.

Errrr??? You lost mileage going back to stock?? That's odd. Did you reset your ECU?

If there is any reduction in MPG's its most likely cause i am getting on it more to hear the tanabes roar.

Only reason I can think of is maybe the Tanabe eliviates some of the back pressue. I would typically get 25.9 read outs on my MPG, now I get only 24.8 and maybe barely get into 25.
But I didn't reset the ECU after installing the exhaust nor did I when I took it back off again.
