My take on it is that mine toned down after about 2 - 3 days. At first it had a raspiness that was kinda aggressive, now it is more like the stock exhaust in sound level but with a deeper tone. Next I wanna go with the Y-pipe. The Tanabe Medallion impressed me so much with the quality that I'm gonna go with a Tanabe Y-pipe, even though it is $460 vs. less than $300 for Ichiba or ED. There is one other Y-Pipe that is impressive though (at over $500 it should be) - Motordyne engineering:

Bottom line is I def like the Medallion but would like more HP/TQ (but then who doesn't?)

just by way of an update, decided to go with this bad boy:

except I'm leaving out the resonator and inserting the straight pipe. Then I'll look into options for a mid-pipe, and possibly add the HFCs.

I got really lucky on the Tanabe. I found a shop that had some overstock and got it for $575 shipped. It was for a limited time though. Now i think you can get it for around 750 now.

yeah I got the heads up from wakeboarder so jumped on it for $580, but I did see that somebody on ebay still has it for $450. No doubt the Motordyne Y-pipe is $$$, but it's not just a Y Pipe, it's an XYZ Pipe, so three letters for the price of two.

Yes it is a bit louder and more aggressive sounding. I definitely didn't want my G to sound ricey or obnoxious, so I am very pleased with it. I am going to add the Y-pipe and then if it is too loud (which I doubt) then i'll add a resonator in the Y-pipe

This is most definitely louder than stock and sounds great and not ricey at all. It's a low, growling rumble that sounds fantastic under hard acceleration especially in the upper RPM range. It was a little too loud for me, but I had HFC as well. It had a slight drone, not too bad but there, at highway cruising speeds. Overall this is a great exhaust but I wanted it quieter than a lot of folks will want.
