CARB legality has always been a big issue. A simple rule of thumb is that if the part you are replacing has a sensor monitoring its function, you'd better make sure it's CARB legal. Intake systems must be registered as CARB legal. Currently the STILLEN Gen. 3 intake is pending CARB approval. Items like headers, or high flow cats are nearly impossible to get certified. Superchargers are another item that need to get CARB certified and the steps to do so are very difficult and cost thousands of dollars for the manufacturer.

Cat-back exhaust systems are not monitored at all as long as they do not exceed your state or county decibel limit.

If you receive a CARB decal with your aftermarket parts you can put the sticker on the part itself or stick it to the front core support. For all of our supercharger kits we place the stickers on the front core supports.
