Berk HFC noise

I got my Berk HFCs installed this week (at my Infiniti dealership!) and have driven about 500 miles on them. I'm now hearing a loud rattling noise (no SES though) sometimes under idle or light acceleration and under hard acceleration. It sounds a little like there are marbles or rocks inside rattling around inside. Has anyone else experienced this or know what to do about it?

You might want to inspect that the exhaust pipes are properly fitted and that there are no nuts stuck inside any heatsheilds.

Try banging around the exhaust pipe with a rubber hammer to see where the culprit is.

My stock exhaust went bad and started rattling after I got my HFC's. The extra flow pushed it over the edge, does it sound anything like this?

It does sound similar to this. Sometimes more pronounced, sometimes less. But I haven't noticed I at the tailpipe. From in the cabin it sounds to be coming from underneath the car at the cats or the Y pipe. I couldn't hear it much in the engine bay. I'll listen at the tail pipes. I already have Tanabe exhaust.

they might have loosened some of the heatshield during install. Go out and kick one of you tail pipes and see if you hear a rattel with the car off. I thought my failed muffler noise was goming from up around the y-pipe when i first started getting it. But then i heard a rattel one day when i was getting out and clossed my door. I did it again and founr it was coming from the muffler then when i shook the muffler it was100%. could hear it tinking around.

Its the exhaust. I had my FI HFC installed with stock exhaust and it was working fine for about 1k miles. Afterward, the exhaust started to rattle between 30-50mph for 15 minutes after a cold start. Switched to FI exhaust and my problem was solved.

its the rasp from HFC's i should be normal. it should be loud when your car is cold but once its warmed up it should lower by alot. and with stock exhaust u will hear it more. my berks do the same but with the FI catback its better. dont worry, its most likely the rasp every test pipe and HFCs produce.

I have Tanabe exhaust that was installed before HFC. Its not coming from the tailpipes or mufflers. I listened as close as I could today without putting it on a lift. It's like peterbanks' noise. It's the HFCs or the part of the Y pipe right behind it as best I can tell. I've gotten almost 1K miles this past week and I notice it mostly at idle. I'll have to check it out more closely when I get home Thursday.
