I don't know guys. I was talking to someone who is very knowledgeable on this stuff. From what he was saying is that all companies would love to put their filters there but you cant, not on these aluminum engines. Theres a reason people didnt put filters there, from what he was saying. Air velocity will be traveling way too fast for our 3.7's. He was also saying G's with automatic transmissions will face some problems.

Ahh, some good to know yet bad news.. I'm also a bit worried more about what this intake may take away then give.

The cons may outshine the pros.

Managing airflow and air velocity is absolutely necessary with these engines. Again, that's why the specific design of the intake, and all of it's features, tube sizing, bends, etc. are important for the flow characteristics.

Significant testing has been done with automatic transmission vehicles, I don't know how to answer your (his?) concerns on this, there are no problems, and just saying their are without any information really isn't rational or helpful to the discussion.

Guys I'm not saying this product is no good. I was 2 seconds away from a purchase, and I spoke with him before I made the checkout on stillen and he told me he how he felt. My buddy who like I said is VERY knowledgeable on this matter stated his opinion. His opinion is formed by his personal experience in building drag racing cars for years and years.

Which we should note was formed through Zero testing of this system. No offense but to say they didn't manage air velocity with this design is like saying an artist didn't use paint. It's pretty obvious that Stillen is aware of airflow characteristics as mentioned. They've been building performance parts for years and years as well, like 20 years. If anything I would suggest upgrading filter technology to nano fiber... Amsoil, R2C to name a few options for them to look at.

will the placement of the filters and splash guard hinder cooling at all on our cars? Seems like it blocks incoming air from cooling our cars a bit.

I just had the Gen 3 intake put on at Stillen today. I felt the difference immediately when I drove off the lot. I posted up on the other Gen 3 video post.

You make very sound points, but again isnt Injen supposed to have remarkable techs who put air filters in places where there isnt any air coming in? Things happen.
