I admit that the JWT when equipped as the only bolt on is a bit throaty on the G37, I wouldnt have called it inconsistent though. After breaking it in and when coupled with a nice sounding exhahust like Tanabe or Greddy I tihnk the JWT settles into a perfect throttle body noise. Honestly I think Injen's sounds cool but they sounds like a CAI on any other Japanese v6, JWT's sound kinda unique. Also saying JWT's suck is a bit extreme too, considering that they:
a. make more power than injen (Bboy dyno'ed 8-10whp, 8-10 @ $320 is good)
b. cost less $$$ than injen
c. install easier and quicker than injen
d. let you swap back and forth w/o bumper removal or going via wheel well
e. let you keep stock windshield washer reserve & not move your horn
Check out my videos of my JWT alone below, I think the sound is pretty sick:

Keep in mind that with a 100 miles or so on them - the noise settles better.

Joe, do you get the sound across the band or only after 4k rpm?

yes. sorry for the harsh rant. I guess I will give them some time to settle in. And.. an ECU reset may help the intakes get recognized by the engine management system. I will do that and see. I do agree about the Injen sounding like every other V6... I had 2002 V6 Accord and it sounded like every other Injen... Sounds great but the JWT def sounds different. Just wish it was deeper and longer... haha- deeper and longer (That's what she said)... sorry but i had to say it.
