The Reasons I Chose to go with JWT intakes over the INJENs
I have just placed my order with Andy at HPautoworks for the JWT intakes... I am going to do a Full Review and Comparison for these intakes vs. the Injens.
But until then... Here's Some of the reasons that I chose to take the INJENS out:
1. The Injens put me out of my AutoX Class that I am in... The JWTs are allowed... and I dont want to be moved into another class...
2. Loss of Washer Fluid Space
3. Red Washer Fluid Bottle
4. A lot harder installation
5. The Main reason that Scared the CRAP out me is this...
I am driving on the interstate going to Football Practice and Bam its starts raining Really hard... Now... I'm on Interstate 640 West ( a bypass that's in Great condition) and this interstate has No pot holes or any type of area for water to puddle heavy. The High School I was going to was right off the Interstate. I was immediately FREAKING OUT... Just the thought of driving threw the water was CRAZY... I don't like driving my car and being nervous about driving it... So I Pull into the parking lot and I get out and think to myself... Lets just take a looksee. I open the Hood and look down to the filters... I cant believe it... I have to go get my Flashlight just to make sure I am seeing right... I shine the light down there and There is water all over the filter and the lower pipe... There is a small standing puddle on top of the Filter lip. FORGET THIS !!!! there is no way I am going to risk my motor for the looks of this intake... I want to be comfortable when driving my car and I do not want to cringe every time it starts to rain... This may not be a big deal to some of you... but I cant risk getting water in the Engine. The Filters cant opperate well water soaked...
6. Horse Power - For me... I'm not looking for much outta an intake system... I have A full Catback and HFCs... PMS dynoed her car with the same setup as me with the INJENs and with the JWTs... She gained 1whp more than the INJEN set up... So switching to the JWTs is not going to be losing any HP for sure(maybe gain 1 or 2)... so that's a HUGE plus....
To wrap up:
I can get the JWTs and install them in 20minutes.... they have heat shields to defer "some" of the heat.... They are easily accessed.... No Relocating...They do not require loss of Washer Fluid... and The Power is at least the same (could be more) for a G37 with Exhaust mods..... The price is a lot cheaper... Jim Wolfe has worked on Nissans forever...
The Injens are very shiny and pretty ... and sound is mean as hell... but thats all it has over the JWTs IMO...
If you want to get these intakes... you can call JWT and get them for 395 plus shipping...
or
you can order from http://hpautoworks.com/index.php?mai...oducts_id=4170 and take advantage of a Group Buy thats going on for Myg37.com members... As of right now... its around 330shipped... but if theres more people... then the price will drop even more... 2 more price drops possible I think...any questions email Andy @ sales@hpautoworks.com
THIS IS ONLY FOR INFORMATION FOR MEMBERS WHO ARE ON THE FENCE ABOUT WHICH TO BUY.
Thanks to PMS for her dynos that pushed me over to the JWTs

Wow, honestly thank god i returned them thank god. I had a gut feeling that they risked being hit by water, and the washer fluid conatainer issue is pretty bad. Thanks for the review and its gonna help alot of people decide which intake to get. I also went for the Jwt pop chargers if anyone else wnats to know.

Nice write up and good valid points.
BUT about the sound, I don't know if it's my Video Cam's Mic, but they sure sounds great, altough, I haven't heard the Injen in person. PMs may be the better to judge:

Yes... we all know that intakes add a nice roar... but since I dont have a personal experience yet with the JWT sound... I left that out...
I can tell you my Injen sounded a lil different than my Fujitas... but the Fujitas still roared...

Yep these are exactly the points I've been saying over n over again. I'm just not a mod
It's official now - in the best interest of all our beloved VQ's - avoid the INJEN guys!
Shame on Injen.
JWT - good job gettin the job done efficiently!
Injen Pros:
Injen Cons:

JWT - good job gettin the job done efficiently!
Injen Pros:
- Sexy Sound
- Looks stunning under the hood, nice modded look
Injen Cons:
- PITA install (2-4 hours of your time or $125 to the shop)
- PITA to change filters (jacked and via wheels wells or bumper removal)
- RISK OF SEVERE MOTOR DAMAGE FROM HYDROLOCK
- PITA horn relocation (or "bending" your horn if you take that route)
- PITA to swap back to stock airbox
- PITA & ugly red dinky windshield washer reserve with risky unwarrantied sensor fitment
- Little to no gains whether modded or stock (as per PMS & herrjr's dynoes, respectively)
- $$$$ Costs 500 + install fees (unless you install)
JWT pros:
- Sounds just about as sweet as Injen
- Power gains will probably minimal to moderate (at least as much if not more than Injen - but hey intakes are not FI
- has heat shield so no heat soak
- reliable/solid build by Nissan specialists (JWT)
- Pop Charger has proven design/results with past VQ motors
- Easy as Fukk Install
- Easy as Fukk filter changing
- Easy as Fukk to swap back to stock
- No washer reserve change
- No horn relocation/bending
- Cost - Can be had for about $300ish shipped from HPAuto
JWT Cons:
- Looks are not as flashy or modded looking as the Injen
.

Man, this will be like your 3rd intake??? Or did you have something else previous to the IOS...
Good points though on switching. Your probably the first person to have first hand experience with the G37 in rain, sounds like its not a good thing, and those fears of hydro-lock is not a myth but reality.

Awesome review, sorry to hear about your experience in the rain but that was kind of surprising. That alone, should be the deal breaker. I'm in souther CA so I'm not really familiar with this "rain" thing you were talking about but I would not want to risk that even once.
