I am selling mine though because I am going with the Tanabe exhaust and the combo would male it is just a little louder than I wanted at highway speeds.

For most the sound is actually a positive thing but when I am cruising on long trips I like minimal sound from my exhaust. At 3K /75 to 80 MPH is where the throttle begins to open up a bit so that's where you will hear your exhaust the most under load.

It is my opinion that for this car, whichever exhaust you get, will sound pretty much the same on a 5AT as a 6MT especialy driving around town.
Yes, I hear you, and I think the same... BUT, trying to look for an audio or video of somebody with some kind of non-OEM exhaust and 5AT, so I can show my buddy, I really depend on him to combine shipping with me, too much for it paying it alone.

Thanks for your inputs, anyone else?

But he was told recently that double check the sound coming from an 5AT, because it sound great standing by, but when it's rolling (according to one his friends) the car gets so annoying that it kills the purpose.

erasat...what does your friend mean by annoying? Is he talking about a drone or something else?

The throttle has to open up a little bit more in most autos to get the same amount of acceleration- under part throttle acceleration, and under load- as a manual. In addition the TC in a typical auto causes the engin eto rev and fluctuate -while in the same gear-much more than a manual.

However the G was designed nicely in this regard and power is transferred through the drivetrain much more efficiently than a typical auto. You don't get the uneccesary low speed droning that you get in most autos.

That's true. I should have looked closer at your post. I overlooked your commenrt about X-pipes. Some exhausts don't even have H-pipes so by adding an H pipe it quiets it down more.

Maybe in this exhaust they were going for a balance if sound reduction and keeping the flow as straight as possible.

Well, he just says that is annoying but I'm sure that he is talking about the "drone". I really do hope that our G has been designed with this in mind and that the drone is not a real issue for us with 5AT, but again, if at least somebody with a 5AT and a Non-OEM exhaust post or link to a video, I will be very happy to check it my self and then decide if that's the sound I want and also to show my friend, that was the one that has brought this issue to my attention. I simply won't like to pay big money for this and then find out that it is not what I was expecting.

All of you who have replied, thanks. Keep them coming, remember any video is welcome.

The problem with a video is that you wont get a true feel for the how it sounds. Drone is typically a resonating sound that can't be identified unless you are actually in the car. Peterbanks has a video link posted somewhere on the site from the inside with High Flow Cats. But I am not sure if he is 5AT or 6MT.

Do a search and you might find it. Or PM him.

Yes, that's exactly what I'm afraid of, not being able to id the drone issue until I buy it and install it, and by then it's little too late, I don't know if you get my point, jeesh, it has been so hard finding even info about people with 5AT and aftermarket exhaust that I simply can't beleive it.

I will try to look for that video you mention, thanks again.
