HFC Owners

I am in a massive internal debate with myself over getting HFCs. I want the extra power but am concerned about a few things.

1) Too loud over all (db)
2) Massive "drone" while cruising at highway speeds
3) CES issues
4) Cost
5) Sounding to "raspy"

So, someone that has them, please educate me and help me out so I can make up my mind.

Thanks in advance

You get a deeper sound, not really any louder. Check out this vid of before and after installation: >>>VIDEO<<<

And this one at WOT: >>>VIDEO<<<

2) Massive "drone" while cruising at highway speeds
I have the BERK's and there is ZERO drone.

3) CES issues
No CES issues with HFC's only test pipes.

4) Cost
That's subjective, for me this was one of the best bang for the buck mods I have done.

Peter, what if you add aftermarket exhaust; does the same all hold true?

Thanks so much

That is going to depend on how much louder the aftermarket exhaust is from stock. But yes, regardless it is going to be louder with HFC's than without.

I have Stillen HFC's with a Stillen exhaust. When accelerating hard, the noise is louder then when I just had my Stillen exhaust. The noise is more raspy. But, at cruising speeds on the freeway, there is not much difference. Also, when I don't want to make noise, I can lightly accelerate. I am really happy with the HFC. It's great bolt on power for your buck.

there's zero noice increase with HFC's under normal throttle. WOT you will get more noise. I got Stillen cat-back with Berk HFC's and the set-up was awesome. No SES lights. All is good. I highly reccommend

I can't tell you which ones are better, but I can assure you that FI products are TOP NOTCH.

BTW, my CEL issue was resolved by putting faulers on O2 sensors.

I ran into a ton of headaches, but non were with the products. My installer busted an A/F sensor in my header. I'm still trying to clean this mess up, but the products and HP/TQ gains are very nice!

They all look to be very similar if not the same, well that goes for the Berk and FI HFCs. The Berk is the only one that has a independent dyno with it which was done by me. No one else dynoed their car before and after their HFC install and posted it on here so we really don't know if there is a performance difference between them.

I frankly don't like how my HFCs made my stock exhaust sound at startup and at WOT. It's louder now, but sounds kinda raspy/tinny. Looking for an aftermarket exhaust with a deeper, but not too loud note.
