WTF?!? Berk HFC's installed with Stillen cat-back and I get a S.E.S. Light?

So the shop swears they took the sensors out and were very careful. They claim it is the HFC's and/or stillen cat-back causing the codes. I got them to agree to diagnose the sensors and test them on Monday to see if they are right. What they don't understand is if the increased flow was messing with my a/f ratio, that wouldn't cause the sensor to not perform properly!!! Idiots! They better pay to fix this problem or work out a deal. Plus they had the audacity to suggest I wait to test/mess with the sensors until my Stillen headers get here next week and they can install them! Like I'm gonna have them install my headers after this for one, and two that is salt in the wound if they won't pay up and I have to shell out 800 bucks for 2 sensors! AHHH!!!
Here comes small claims court........

did you do research to make sure that our o2 sensors are not also air/fuel sensor? do you know how many wires are to the harness of the o2 sensor? o2 sensors are kind of hard to damage. do you also have test pipes?

I couldn't find much info on our sensors except that the sensors in the headers are not O2 sensors like in the cats. They are what Infiniti calls A/F sensors and way more expensive. The parts guy at the dealership even said that if they were just O2 sensors they have aftermarket ones for like 60 bucks, but these are different/new/expensive and are an order only item, they don't stock them. Is it possible to find them cheaper then $390? It's looking more and more likely that I'm gonna have to pay for the sensors and labor to fix this problem and sue to recoupe my loss. Please, any help would be appreciated.

AZg37, I would try the guys at Riverside. I think Mike is the guy there that helps out with this stuff. He is on the forum. Not sure if I have the name right. They usually give myg37 members a good price for OEM parts.

yeah, so the mechanic has me drop the car off for a free diag. check of the sensor. An hour and a half go by, then I get a call from them saying they can't do anything because they don't have the software. Like they didn't know this when they scheduled this appointment? I get my car, and it has 15 miles added to the odometer?!?!? I'm pissed. I chew the guy a new one, and tell him that he'll be hearing from a lawyer and the BBB. He then tells me to take the car to the dealership and try and get it fixed under warranty for free, and if that works he'll give me a sweet deal on installing my Stillen headers. I think he might be a demon or something. I just can't believe this guy.

oh, quick question. The last 2 times I've had the codes read and erased it's only shown p2A03, bank 2. Why would it initially trip both driver and passenger side sensor codes, but now it is only tripping the passenger side? Was the driver side a fluke? I'm hoping nothings wrong on that side cause that saves me 1/2 the expense of replacing them.

I need advice, and quick. Things got a little wierd with my car. I've had a SES light as everyone knows. I made an appointment with the dealership for them to diag. my sensors. Its at 730 this morning. Yesterday I installed my grounding kit. I had the negative cable off the terminal of my battery for like 3 seconds. It was so short a time my radio stations didn't reset. Much to my surprise my SES light was gone. Knowing my appointment was about this light, and the fact the battery was disconnected for a sec. I figured it reset itself. I know my car needed to go through a drive cycle to trip the code again so I drove to my cousins place, about 15 min drive. Did some errands for another 15 min. nothing happened. I then went on a 40 min. highway cruise to trip the SES but nothing happened. I took 2 more 10 min drives to end the day and no SES popped. Now I have zero evidence for the dealership to look at. Now here is the real question, I think it just needs some more time to pop the SES light, but my cousin mentioned the fact that the service manual specifically mentions testing the ground to the sensor, and maybe the grounding kit fixed the problem. Is it at all possible that the ecu wasn't reset, i mean the radio didn't even lose the stations programmed, and the grounding kit fixed the SES??? Curious to hear your input, but I think the SES light will pop tomorrow

yeah, the dealership said it didn't really care about the codes. They said, and this isn't an exact quote by any means, something like "With sensors they don't need the codes, they need the light to be on so they can get a full read out" or something to that nature. They told me to come back if it goes off, but after a full day of driving it still hasn't. Very weird

Well the SES went off and I took it in to get diagnosed by the dealership. Their tech said the sensors were working fine when they tested them, but there was the same 2 codes again, P2A00 and P2A03. He said it wouldn't be caused by the install tech damaging the sensors, because then they should throw a "hard code" not just give weird readings once in awhile. He also said that he wasn't 100% on that last statement, but if I wanted them to tinker with the car and locate the source of the problem, I'd need to remove all my aftermarket exhaust components, because the dealership immediately blamed them for the sensor issue, just like my shop did. Has anyone on here ever got a code from the A/F sensor just by adding HFC's and cat-back systems??? The tech told me they trhew the code, but were working fine so I could just choose to ignore it and keep resetting them if the light bothered me, or return to stock and get it diagnosed if the light returned. Both options suck. Any ideas???

what are the two codes?
there are quite a few people who have HFC that don't throw codes...
either: a)reflash, b)get a more experienced guy to install them, or c)go back to stock and sell them
