BERK HFC's Installed

First, Very Happy with the outcome. Second, don't even think of doing this at home unless you have some serious tools, and a friend to help. Seriously, the install took about 1 hour and 45 minutes, but an hour of that was spent removing the bolts on the oem cats that you have to access from the top of the car. My car only has 1900 miles and those bad boys were not giving it up. Once they were off everything else went smooth. You do have to remove the intake boxes to get to the top bolts. Anyway, like I said before VERY HAPPY with the outcome. If any of you are in Naples, I highly recommend Summit Automotive. They did a excellent job.

So are you throwing a check engine light or anything? And does the performance seem any better?

nice! i agree no instlling at home unless you know what you are doing. Its some serious work and needs some serious tools. Also, any dyno #'s of it b4 or after?

waas this done for power or just sound? b/c if you want true power a full cat back will be needed to really free up the air flow.

Sounded good.

More info taken from BERK's post on MY350Z:

Berk Technology Metallic Substrate High Flow Cats (HFC’s) – Spun Catalytic Converters for the 2007 350Z, G37 (VQ35HR).

These are METALLIC substrate cats, NOT ceramic brick cores. They have a much more free flowing cell pattern vs. the ceramic cats you usually see. The catalyst material will not break apart, crumble, powder, lossen, etc. These cats on a flow bench will show nearly the same flow rates as an actual test pipe. These metallic cats have been tested these to over 500 wheel HP on a twin turbo G35. I’m sure you’ll have no problems with YOUR forced induction or N/A Z33.

These cats are 49 state legal, and can still pass strict California SMOG emissions tests (sniffer test). Depending on what state you are in, the cats are backed by Magnaflow’s factory warranty. Warranty varies by location, see the Magnaflow website for your particular warranty terms.

These will include our custom made 99.99% pure copper gaskets. These gaskets have a melting point of 1980 deg F. Unless something is very wrong with your tune, these gaskets are essentially “un-blowable”.

• Magnaflow Spun Body Metallic Substrate Catalytic Converters
• Secondary Wide band O2 Sensor ports included for left bank and right bank cylinders. Wideband plugs included if ports are not in use.
• 100% bolt on. NO cutting, splicing, hacking, etc.
• Gusseted 304 SS support brackets.
• SUS304 Stainless Steel Tubing & Flanges. Many brands brands that use mild steel flanges or 409 SS for the flanges.
• True 60mm piping (2.36") tubing. We use the same size metric tubing as the OEM collector. Most other brands that will use 57.15mm (2.25”) piping.
• Perfect fitment guarantee.
• TIG Welded with silicon bronze at the flange joints rod for ultimate fatigue resistance, (308 stainless at the cat joints).
• Includes all mounting hardware, copper gaskets, mounting bolts, etc..
• MADE IN THE USA.
