If you don't want to deal with check engine lights (CEL) then HFC's are the only way to go. The traditional non-fouler method which worked pretty well on the VQ35DE motors will NOT work on the HR motors (VQ35HR & VQ37HR). We've used this method for years and built it into our VQ35DE test pipes, but it DOES NOT WORK on the HR motors.
