If you don't want to deal with check engine lights (CEL) then HFC's are the only way to go. The traditional non-fouler method which worked pretty well on the VQ35DE motors will NOT work on the HR motors (VQ35HR & VQ37HR). We've used this method for years and built it into our VQ35DE test pipes, but it DOES NOT WORK on the HR motors.

You'll still get the CEL. If you were told otherwise then report back to us in after 50 miles and let me know the outcome.
