They did the same thing with my 350z. I never had any structural integrity problems with my exhaust. I had Top Speed headers, AAM test pipes, and Stillen dual cat back exhaust.

I am considering test pipes too but with resonator to cancel out the raspier frequencies...i want it to still sound somewhat refined...however i am hearing that the stock exhaust itself can handle test pipes...i mean look how optimized it is, Stillen who made one of the best exhausts for the prev gen coupes got soem serious gains and yet Stillen can't get much gain for the 37....So they must be pretty optimum at least from the catback setup..
