Yep. You can do it, but you will have to run low boost. You may get a save 80 hp or so on the stock internals, but its too early to tell.

Yep. His was a fully built stroker motor I thought. Not quite the same as a turbo kit on stock internals.

If so, is all you need to do is to get lower compression pistons?
I would highly recommend it.

I think Stillen will come out with a blower first.
I also feel the other popular companies will wait to see if a) the car sells well to enthusiasts, b) Nissan puts the motor in anything else (i.e. the Z), and c) just how different the new motor is.

It seems like a big gamble for any aftermarket manufacturer to build a kit for the G right now. Especially with the GT-R looming.

i think the high compression with boost fear is a little unfounded. yes, it is not an ideal set up but many highER revving, highER compression engines have responded well to boost (and are still reliable)...S54 on the E46 M3s (superchargers and turbo kits galore), F20Cs on the S2000K (turbo kits), K20A2s on the Acura RSX, etc. throw into the fact that the VQ is solid...i think stillen and vortech can pull off a good supercharger system. now with twins...ummm...we'll see.

as long as the boost is not excessive AND YOU GET A GOOD TUNE, i find that boosting is fine.

Great point ... the honda guy's have been doing it for over a decade now High compression is nothing but a little hurdle now a days. 8.5 at 20 lbs. is pretty much the same as 11.5 at 10lbs. ... its all in the tuning.

I do wish Infiniti would wise up though and move on to a nice V8. Lexus, BMW, and Audi can't be wrong. A 40k-ish g45 would sell like no other.

It would be nice if they fit the M45 engine into the G right?

While I can appreciate FI as I owned a STi (before my 06 g35), where are the cams, springs, retainers, etc!

Given the high compression and it's general power characteristics, I want to go all-motor. I'm thinking this would be a very good application to do so.

Many cars ago I had a 1999 Integra GSR that I decided to go all motor with. It screamed up to 9,500rpm. Very fun.

Yes I know it's very costly when done right depending on much power you are trying to get out of it, but sounds like an idea.
