Group Buy - Clutch Pedal Assist Spring for 6MT
#166
I just put an order in for a spring I stalled the car yet again today. I've had nothing but manuals for the last 6 or 7 years and this car is by far one of the hardest to shift without slipping the clutch. I'm willing to give this a shot!

I want to try it and all to see what you guys are talking about... but I don't really know what you guys mean when you say you've been driving mt for years and this stock clutch hinders your driving. How exactly do you benefit from this variation?

Just got done switching out the springs. Thanks again to JSolo for the quick shipping. Very easy to do and only took ~5-10 mins to complete first time out. Only tested it briefly, but so far so good. It now feels a lot closer to other cars I've driven, but will probably still take a little getting used to since I've had this car close to 5 years.
Now here's the weird part...
My stock assist spring looks nothing like the yellow one someone put up. I'm not sure if this is because my 6MT was one of the first to roll off the assembly line (picked up on 11/12/2007), but it's not even close...there's an extra coil and isn't painted yellow :

PayPal price, shipped to N2V 2M6 in Ontario Canada.
EDIT: I completely removed the OEM spring last year and also did the travel mod (adding new stops) but am now wondering if it is the cause of an intermittent issue. Once in a while, first thing in the morning, the clutch feels a little 'dead' and wont engage enough to put the shifter into a gear. I have to let the car run an extra couple minutes and tap the clutch pedal a few times until it seems to be 'normal again. Hard to explain.

^^Shipped Canadian prices are listed in the first post, along with the paypal email addr.
I think what you meant to say is the clutch won't disengage enough to put it into first. That is, clutch pedal to the floor, but difficulty in getting it into gear. Do you have it adjusted so it grabs very close to the floor? You probably want to readjust so it grabs a bit further away (from the floor).
