another G35 to G37 upgrade

Ok, Another Upgrade from G35 to G37. My new G37S is a base 6MT (PG, black int) with no options except factory spoiler (splash guards came with spoiler for some reason???). I could not get one without the premium package without custom ordering (all the ones in stock had the sunroof) . It took 3 months to get one the way I wanted.

My old G35 (6MT no options except spoiler) was company car/daily driver, well used at 93K miles but ran great and was very reliable. It took A LOT of abuse and did well.

G37S is nice and a much better car then the G35 (interior and chassis) but.... Does anyone else with a 6mt notice the gear shifter in neutral shakes like it is having a seizure?? (my G35 did not, my G37 does) but not a big deal for me. The gas gauge is much smaller than a G35 (and apparently just as in-accurate), the old 280z's and 300zx were very accurate (Nissan is going backwards on gas gauges). The TCS/VDC is very sensitive (probably ok for the average G37 driver but not for me) , I disable it at start-up. The intelligent key is... well a mess and a whole another discussion.

Handling is nice as I got it in a full power on power slide today (is it ok to do that during break-in??). The users manual is funny, lots of things you have to do and cannot do (30 seconds for warm up?? no hard braking during break-in??).

Also I cannot figure out how to turn off the engine while moving (most people would not do that, but I have my reasons). Is that a restriction??

First task is a weight reduction... 53 pounds so far (took 30 minutes and made a much larger trunk). Ok, now time to take it to an autocross (is that ok during break-in ? LOL!).

Why do you try to purchase the car with no options, to save weight from un-needed luxurys?

Also you should take it easy on the car during break in, I'm not saying drive like a granny, but don't ping it on the limiter in every gear.

I beat on the car, but I make sure it is warmed up before I really get on it.

Yes, I did not want options I do not use, add weight, and could be maintained issues long term.

As far as break-in, I agree and I do try to keep off of redline and I do let in warm up before getting on it, but I think infiniti's recommendations are a bit conservative.
