OB G37S - Perfect replacement for an E36 M3

6 years ago I was fortunate enough to find a Dakar Yellow '97 M3 for a really great price (17k). The car was amazing. Incredibly handling, surprising acceleration, great looks. An absolute pleasure to drive and drew so many compliments it was embarrassing.

Well, as an automotive enthusiast, no matter how great a car is, 6 years is an eternity, and it was time to look for something new. I test-drove used Porsches, used E46 M3's, new 335i's, etc. In the end, the G37S was the car I didn't even know I was looking for. While I've tended to focus purely on performance (my car before the M3 was a highly modified 10th Anniversary Miata), the G37S just had a perfect blend of sportiness, luxury, and gadgetry.

I've only had it 3 days, and today is a blizzard so really only 2 days of driving, but I'm already loving it. We're getting over a foot of snow tonight, but I can't wait for some of it to melt away so I can right back out there and getting throught the break-in period as fast as possible!

I lurked through this forum as I was making my decision on the car. So I thought I'd take this as an opportunity to thank everyone who has posted everything from incredibly useful technical information to simple "here's my new car" inspiring posts with beautiful pictures.

Thanks for this great forum, and I look forward to becoming a more active member as I enjoy the car and later will immerse myself into researching and testing different exhausts, winter wheel options, etc.

Here's a pic of my baby sitting as it sat in the dealer lobby as I came to pick it up (dealer located from another location).

Congrats and very nice looking car. I am also a big fan of both the e36 and e46 M3s and agree that the G37 is a very good blend of sport, lux and tech
Good luck

Thanks everyone! It's going to be a long few days waiting for this blizzard of snow to melt here in central Ohio.
