Your push-to-start issue could be related to the start button or the brake switch. Make sure you're pressing the brake pedal all the way down when you try to start the car. Also, check the battery in your key fob, as a weak battery can sometimes cause issues.

Good advice.

To see if your key fob battery is getting weak, try inserting the fob in the dashboard slot when starting the car, instead of relying on the wireless connection.

As for the brake switch, these can fail intermittently, just like clutch pedal position switch. Fortunately it's an inexpensive part and a relatively easy DIY replacement.

I agree, check that brake switch first, that's the simplest answer and the easiest fix. Also the clutch switch if your car is MT. Or for AT there are switches which confirm that the car is either in Park or Neutral. That's a bit harder to diagnose and fix but there are threads about it in here.
