Hi all, hope someone can help here. I have a 2011 G37 sedan with 148,000 miles. The AC used to work great, now it just works off and on. It goes from fresh to recirculate automatically. When on recirculate the AC works great. I have taken it to my locate AC guy, he says it is not the Freon, the compressor does come on and gets down to 38 degrees. but then kicks over to fresh and blows hot air. Don't want to go to our Infiniti dealer as they charge way too much money. Hopefully someone here has had the same problem?

How did your mechanic check the freon level? I've learned that our compressor are variable and thus pressure alone is not a good indicator you'd need to evacuate the system and go by weight.

Also our cars have a fairly complicated HVAC system with a A/C amplifier and sometimes they do go bad.

The FSM (free online) does list troubleshooting steps for the HVAC but some of these intermittent issues can be hard to diagnose.

Sorry I do not have any concrete answers maybe someone else can weigh in but I too have some intermittent issues that I am trying to solve my self.

Could be the pressure sensor.
